What we collect, and why
If you create an account or place an order — for physical goods or digital downloads — we collect what’s needed to fulfill it: your name, email, billing/shipping address, and your phone number if you choose to give it. We use it to process your order, run your account, and show you your order history and downloads. Every order also records the IP address and browser it was placed from, which is how a payment dispute or a support question gets sorted out later, and downloading a digital file you’ve bought is recorded the same way — the file, the time, and the IP address it went to.
If you sign up for our newsletter, we collect your email address. We send it to our email delivery service and add you to our mailing list.
If you write to us through the contact form, we collect your email, subject, and message, and send it to our inbox so we can reply to you directly.
Both of those forms use a short-lived, per-visitor rate limit — keyed to a scrambled version of your IP address and kept for about an hour — to block automated abuse, and Google’s reCAPTCHA to tell a person from a bot. There’s no puzzle to solve: reCAPTCHA works invisibly, and Google receives your IP address along with the activity it scores. Because the newsletter form sits in the footer of every page, reCAPTCHA loads on every page you visit — not only when you send something.
If you’re a member or subscriber, we also keep your subscription’s billing schedule and status — active, paused, cancelled — so we can bill you correctly and give you the access you’re paying for. When a subscription renews automatically, we store a token from Stripe, our payment processor: a reference that lets us charge the card you already used. It isn’t your card number, and it only works for us.
We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site — pages visited, general traffic patterns, and shop activity like items added to a cart, purchases, and newsletter signups.
Cookies
The store sets cookies to run your cart and checkout session while you shop, and to keep you logged in if you have an account. These are functional — the store and account area don’t work without them.
Google Analytics sets its own cookies to count a visit as one visit, and reCAPTCHA sets Google’s. We don’t set advertising cookies, and nothing we run follows you to other sites.
Who we share information with
- Our email delivery service — handles newsletter delivery, contact form replies, and transactional emails like order confirmations and subscription invoices. Newsletter signups are stored there as a contact on our mailing list.
- Google reCAPTCHA — verifies that our newsletter and contact forms are being filled out by a person, not a bot. Google receives your IP address and the form activity it needs to score that.
- Google Analytics — receives the traffic data described above: which pages you visited, and shop activity like items added to a cart and purchases.
- Stripe — our payment processor. Stripe handles your card details directly at checkout: we never see or store your card number, and it never touches our servers.
- Our network provider — when the site sits behind one, it sees the technical traffic (your IP address, your requests) that any provider in front of a site sees, to keep the site fast and available.
We don’t share your information with anyone else.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell your data. We don’t run ads or ad-tracking. We don’t track you across other sites. The only outside services that see your information are the ones listed above, and only for the reasons stated.
Your choices
Every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link — clicking it removes you from the list immediately.
If you want your account or order history deleted, write to us at the email below and we’ll take care of it.
You can control or block cookies in your browser at any time; doing so may stop the cart, checkout, or login from working properly.
